The First Year Missionary
(FYM) steps into the shoes of a full-time missionary.
The
program is divided into three primary areas, giving
the FYM the opportunity to experience missionary
life firsthand:
- Discipleship
- you will be challenged to understand and
personally surrender to the lordship of Jesus
Christ through the discipling program, which
touches on understanding of God, of yourself, of
others, of the world, and of ministry (see
program deliverables).
-
Ministry
- you will choose an internship and minister
alongside local missionaries, pastors, or other
ministries. You can work in a hospital, in
after-school care, at a local church, in a rehab
center, at an orphanage, in street ministry… the
possibilities can go where you want to take
them!
- Missions
Mobilization - you will see what goes
on behind the scenes in missions by working with
the AIM Mobilization team, walking your peers
from initial interest in missions through
application. In all of these activities, the FYM
is encouraged and guided by Christ-centered
leadership from full-time AIM staff members.
